Horsemanship | From Nose to Tail | May 18 – 19, 2018

Kicking off this Horsemanship Series are two days of working with the horse from the ground up, and how the little things done on your feet affect the results in the saddle. This works on providing better and safer results with your horse, and stems from the perspective that if something can be done with a horse from the ground safely, then it can be done on their back safely.

Most of the activities these first few days will be done on the ground, yet there will be some saddle time as well. We’ll begin with the basics of how a horse thinks, to give a better idea of how to work with them. At this same time, participants will be matched with a horse to form a team to work with for the entire series. You’ll really get the chance to know your horse from top to bottom and mouth to tail, and take the instruction from the ground to apply to the saddle.

Horsemanship | From the Ground Up | May 20 – 21, 2018

Beginning where the first two days left off, we’ll be picking up and focusing predominately on your seat. We’ll start by discussing and exercising how to work on your balance in the saddle, while getting a true feel for your horse. This focus will assist in the harmony between you and your horse. Activities will be both on the ground and in the saddle riding as a group, and individually.

Horsemanship | To New Heights | May 23 – 27, 2018

We will be ending the series by taking you to new heights with your overall abilities and confidence with horses. We will be applying techniques learned in the first two sessions, and learning many more. This series will include more saddle time from relay races to obstacle courses and maneuvering your horse both on and off the trail. This last series will prove that you and your horse can do more than the average person thinks by bringing you to a new height and understanding of horses.

“I want everyone to go home with a safer feeling around horses, both on the ground and in the saddle, no matter whether it’s your horse or a horse unfamiliar to you. These techniques will help keep you safer by building your knowledge and understanding of horses. Come on out for one program or the entire series. Let’s have some fun; let’s ride!” ~Trevor Byron
